SaiBayDee! wooohooo.. im backk! had an extremelyy great time there.. even though it was tiring, but it's really an enjoyable and memorable experience. wld nv forget the pple, kids, the library we built. it was amazing, to see how it grow from a baby to an adult.. the hard work and perspiration we gave out was all worth while.. a part of me wld always be there.

the scenery there is really breathtaking. water flowing through 'nam song' river is so clear and refreshing, not like in s'pore. it's juz sooo natural! mountains after mountains. i lurve the starry starry sky at nite.. the whole sky seems to totally covered wif shiny shimmering stars. lots and lots of them.. there was once i even getta see a shooting star. it was juz so unexpected. i, of course, did made a wish.. shhhh` i cant tell u wat it is.. it's a secret, or else it wont come true ya.. *grins-

Day 1 (3/11), set off to Bangkok first, den took a transit flight to Laos, Vientiane. we accommodate at dragon lodge hotel. it was set up by tis really nice Singaporean guy. had dinner on a boat. omigosh! was kinda interesting, had many extra "ingredients" added to out food, like, insects and flies. yes, yuckky rite.. despite it, we were so hungry, we cldn't care dat much. haax.. after dat, we went to the pub, sit ard and chat. nth much abt it though..

Day 2 (4/11), had a bumpy 3 hrs ride to Vang Viang, Phou Din Daeng. Getta noe some foreign volunteers there. in the evening, went to meet the villagers and kids. Aaawww.. they'r juz soo innocent and cheery. even though, they aren't wealthy, but they'r all happie wif wat they haf. so willing to learn.. we sang songs and played games with them.

Day 3 (5/11), started work on the library, and in the evening, went to teach the kids at the community centre.
following [days till day 7] were abt the same, except dat there was one nite, we were walking back from the cc and suddenly there was a blackout. as there wasn't any street lamps ard, the whole village was in total darkness. so can u imagine, it was totally dark, except for the lil` light given out by the moon and stars?? Haax.. we gurls, got so freaked out.. *luffs- was so hilarious. clinged onto one another.. aaron was being pulled by us, cuz he had a torch wif him.. hahax.. after quite sometime, the electricity came back again.
during the weekends, the kids wld come by to help us wif the library. wow..! they'r really strong..

Day 8 (10/11), yyiipppeee! at last we getta enjoy, one day off for us! we went down town, Vang Viang, started on our shOppiNgg! =) bought lotsa stuffs, was sooo cheap! bargaining here and there, till we r satisfiedd wif the price.. after dat we went tubing. Ooops..! I wld nv forget wat happened.. wahahaha.. i was the only one who got stucked on the rock. omigosh! but i did manage to get off it. was kinda embarrassing though. my frenz really had a good laugh at it.. everyone was laughing real hard.. gotta be there to see it. it was really.. omg! hahax..

as days past, we complete the library bit by bit. the last few days, we did plastering, painting and cleaning up the place. had hell lotsa fun! Day 10 (12/11), which was fri was our last day to teach the kids. i wld really miss teaching and playing wif them. sobbx.. :'(

Day 12 (14/11), we had our farewell party outside the library. was really a teary nite for all of us. my frenz (jj, rain, drey) and i prepared a hip-hop dance for them. was a great one.. after dat, the other gurls joined in and we sang songs for them.. thumbs-up gurls``

Day 13 (15/11), we had our last breakfast at Phou Din Deang. some of the villagers came to bid us farewell. started to get a lil` teary again.. cldn't help it.. i really miss them alot! den we travelled back to Vientiane, Dragon Lodge Hotel again.

Day 14, we woke up early in the morning and went to Vientiane's wet market. did some shopping again. *smiles- the transit flight from Laos to Bangkok was a lil' out of control. there was turbulence, it really startled me. took another plane from Bangkok back to s'pore. when the plane touched down in s'pore, there was a loud cheer from us! woow..! i was kinda shocked to hear everyone screamed! we were all so happie to be back here again. it has been 2 wks since we left.. but yet, there's still this lil' mixed feeling in me.. anyhow, my frenz and i wld wanna go back again. =)
